Nana's tea time clock

by Annie
(Maine)

My husband inherited this clock recently from his mother and I would like to know everything there is to know about it!

The clock has been sitting on top of Ma's china closet since I met her 30 years ago. It belonged to her father who was a clock maker from Troy, Vermont. He may have inherited the clock himself or acquired in his lifetime. He subsequently resided in North New Portland, Maine, as a clock maker.

Since I have no picture at the moment I will tell you that the clock:
...is black with gold leaf wooden ornament around the sides
...it is a mantle clock
...on the back the label says"Napoleon"
and "Wm L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn.
U.S.A."
I will attach a picture soon.
