Clock Pendulum

Clock Pendulum

Do you know where and how I could get a hold of an original 30 hour OG clock pendulum from the 1850's? I have a Jerome & Co. woodcase Shelf clock that has a new adjustable brass bob and it seems as if the weight/size might be wrong for it.

I am also looking for an oil that could be used to lubricate it and an original winding key.
Thanks

I have a clock just like your and you have the correct pendulum. It is exactly like mine and mine runs. To raise the weights they used a little crank. Would you have any idea of the value of one that runs?

JEROME CLOCK
by: RICH

HI,
I JUST BOUGHT A CHAUNCEY JEROME CLOCK AT A AUCTION, AND IT SEEMS TO RUN FINE. IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE CLOCK YOU HAVE SHOWN. MY PENDULUM IS A DULL BRASS THAT IS FILLED WITH SOMETHING IT LOOKS LIKE MAY BE STONE,IT LOOKS SORT OF CRUDE MAYBE BACK THEN THATS THE WAY IT WAS MADE. ALSO I AM NOT SURE IF THE KEY WAS CORRECT, IT IS A PIECE OF BRASS THAT WINDS THE CLOCK AND ON THE OTHER END IS A L SHAPED PIECE OF ROD MAYBE 3/32''THICK THAT GOES INTO THE BRASS.I ALSO FOUND THAT WHEN YOU WIND UP THE WEIGHT ON THE LEFT SIDE IT WINDS COUNTERCLOCK WISE, AND ON THE RIGHT SIDE WINDS CLOCK WISE. CLOCK SEEMS TO TICK LOUD, AND I AM NOT SURE IF I WANT TO KEEP IT. ALL IN ALL IT IS A NICE CLOCK, I MAY TRY TO SELL IT ON EBAY TO RECOUP MY PURCHACE PRICE. I WAS NOT ABLE TO FIGURE OUT HOW OLD THE CLOCK IS. ARE YOU ABLE TO TELL THE AGE OF YOURS. RICH.
