60 second stopwatch design

Hi, I'm an electrical engineering student and I'd like to build an electro-mechanical 60 second stop watch, with a face about 30cm in diameter, which only has a seconds hand. The idea is that when a button is pressed, the seconds hand ticks around the face once and then stops.

If I modify a cheap store-bought wall clock by pulling off the un-needed hour and minute hands, and have some kind of switch to turn the clock on, what is the easiest way to get it to stop after one revolution?

I'm hoping there's a simple, elegant mechanical solution?
Thank you
