Wall Clock runs too fast

by Antoine
(Washington, DC)

My Wall Clock, modern mechanical, runs too fast; the pendulum swing is short but swinging; tried to move the nut on its bottom to make the pendulum longer, but it stopped, and I noticed, shorter or longer pendulum is not affecting the minutes, it is always ahead.

Clock too fast
by: Bill

Hi,

It sounds like a problem with the escapement. Could be out of adjustment, but I do not have enough information to be able to tell - such as did it run ok recently or has someone worked on it before it started acting up?

Thanks for submitting your question. Maybe you can provide more information.
