Striking mechanism runs continously

I have Seth Thomas Legacy clocks Cat # 1330 (1330-001) that has not been used for several years. I wound up the clock and chime and the clock runs well, but if I do not engage the hammer arrestor, the clock strikes continously.

Is there anything I can do or does it need to be sent to a clock repairman?
