Seth Thomas ship's clock, circa 1979

I received this clock as a wedding gift. I don't remember now what one of the slide tabs controls. The one on the upper left is for strike/silent STR/SIL and the one I am pondering is marked F/S. Is this for fast/slow perhaps? Any help greatly appreciated.
