Seth Thomas Eight day strike mechanism

I submitted my question earlier and wanted to add a photo, but couldn't figure out how to do that.

Old clock, was my great-great-grandmother's, probably from somewhere around Louisville KY. My father did not like to hear the chime so my mother had turned it off. She has since died, and now I don't know how to turn it back on.
