Replacement hairspring

by Y Kenter
(Moscow, Russia)

I bought a seth thomas ship's clock with a mangled hairspring. I may be able to straighten it, but in the event that it breaks where it was pinned, I will need a replacement. I see brass hairspring assortments for sale that probably fit alarm clocks. The hairspring on the seth thomas movement appears to be steel. Do anyone know whether anyone sells replacement steel hairsprings?

Some hairspring are being made by Bruce Forman. It depends on the model if they are available. Prices start at $35 and go up. email forman21@netzero.net
