Noisy electric motor

by Jim Thomson
(Spokane Wa)

Pam electric clock

Pam electric clock

How can I repair ( Quiet) the clock motor on this Pam advertising clock, which I am guessing may have been made in the 50's. It keeps good time and works well, but has become very noisy. I took the clock carefully apart, but did not see a good way to disassemble the electric motor, as it looked like it was assembled with brads instead of screws. I reassembled the clock until I could find out more information.

If it is a synchron motor which it should be, it really cannot be repaired, you can disassemble the clock take the motor out, the back cover comes off the motor, you can try a few drops of 3 in 1 oil. If this does not work you can put a new motor in it very easily, they still make them, you can buy them for around 30-40 dollars.
