New England Clock Company stopped running

by Steve Kelly
(Syracuse, NY, USA)

I have a 1972 New England Clock Company Grandfather wall clock. In other words it is a grandfather that has no cabinet and hangs on the wall.

The clock has the standard 3 weights. A feature of this clock is two strings on either side of the weights that allow you to attach to pins in order to silence the chime and strike, but allow the time to continue to move.

A few weeks ago both strings were pulled but not attached to the pins. Since then they have not run. Then, last week, the time stopped running as well. Not even sure if there is a place aound me that could service this, but was hoping this is a possible quick fix I can perform.
