Ingraham GUARD alarm clock 1920s?

by Mecca Gallagher
(Texas)

I found this great old clock, the alarm works fine, and when I opened the back, and touched the "ticker" it keeps time great.....but, it stops ticking after about a minute. I can touch it again and it starts up again. The clock spring is wound too tight, what can I do? I am not sure how to "Unwind" it without just letting the clock tick away...and if it will stick again if I wind it up again.

Thanks for your help, it is such a great, LOUD alarm clock!
