Howard Miller Grandmother clock--stopping the chimes

by Curt

Clock movement and front

Clock movement and front

An old clock (prior to names)Ser #4871, No 150 Westminster Chime, chain driven. Does not come with silencing option and chimes so loud we can't take it at night. Only one lever is visible on movement assy, and pulling down on it activates the westminster chiming non-stop. I can lay the hammers back for the westminster chimes, but cannot silence the hourly gonging without holding back the gonging hammers. Is there another way?
