Ansonia strike problem, will not lock

by Yunus
(San Fancisco)

I received a very old ansonia mantle clock. The time train has worn elliptical holes but the chime train holes seem tight. Once the chime is engaged, it will not stop chiming.

The "L"shaped counter that drops into the slotted wheel is part of an assembly between the clock plates consisting of a lever that rides on a cam and a lever at the back of the clock that seems as though it should lock the pin attached to final wheel of the chime train. When the L pin drops into the deep hole, the pin at the side of the final wheel is far from the lock. How can I put them into sequence again? Thank you. Y
