Value of Your Clock & Who Made it
by: Gaius

Hello

I cannot be positive, but it looks very much like a Winterhalter & Hoffmeyer (spelling?) chiming bracket clock. The manufacturer is German and I reckon it was made in the late 19th century or early 20th century.

It's value is probably 2-3000 GBP.

Thank you for your comment.

Someone told me these clocks were plentiful. I've yet to find another one online so I could research it.

I wish I had a better history of this wonderful clock. To me it's a soothing part of my youth.

look at the works. If you don't see it there take the works out, they should give clues either on the works or the case

Thnx for your comment

I took it to a clock shop for a cleaning. They had it for a few weeks and didn't have any info to share. On the inside on the case it said Germany and there was a letter J. It weighs 50 lbs so I don't move it too much and I'd never take it apart.

I saw one like it in an ad for Old Charter Whiskey but I have no further info as to when and where it was made.
