White marble - French ? Antique ?

by Danniella

French Mantel Clock

French Mantel Clock

I am told that this clock is a French Antique. It is made from what looks and feels like white marble. Inside the 'cup' on the top of the clock, there is a small brass coin with a picture of a Roman Soldier on it.

There is no makers name that I can see but the number 2332 is stamped on the back of the movement in the inside.

Does anyone know anything about this clock ??? It originally had a glass dome case ??
