I must correct the original post. The label on the inside of the door reads "1807" at the top, not "1806" as I indicated in the original post. Also, there is a heading that reads "Gilbert Tambour Clock" on the post I made. I did not type that in and do not even know what Tambour is.
I have read that in 1934, the company changed to William L Gilbert Clock Corporation from Company. The label on mine reads company. So, I'm assuming that it is from before 1934.
Also, it chimes once at the half hour and bim-bams (two-tone bars) on the hour for the correct number of hours.
Just a little more information I found.
