The clock in Mom's Atttic.

by Lynne Rose
(Clayton DE)

It had been in the attic since I remember (about 8 years old) that was 40 years ago. It was made by Sessions Clock Company, is about 3 foot tall (a wall clock)with Roman numerals for the clock part and around it are numbers from 1-31 (calendar).

Cased in glass my nephew said that when the glass got broken (after being retrieved from the attic) that he had noticed gold markings on the broken glass particles. I had only seen it wrapped in blankets.

It is constucted of wood still visible is the label with instructions of winding it properly. It does have a pendulum. The key is still with it.

It is believed that it was owned by my grandfather or great grandfather (Smith or Wingate being the last name). I know my grandfather (Smith) worked in Wilmington DE, and lived in Clayton.
