Seth Thomas Volume Control

We recently received a Seth Thomas "Sturbridge" mantle clock as a gift. It has the Westminster chime and chimes every quarter hour and on the full hour. Is there any way to turn off the volume or have it chime only on the hour? It is driving us crazy, but we want to use it since it is a very nice gift. Sites say it has volume control, but we see nowhere to adjust it. It is model no. 1503
