help for your clock?
by: BJ MACK

I HAVE A CLOCK JUST LIKE YOURS, EVEN TO THE MODEL #. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY CLOCK TILL A FRIEND TOLD ME TO USE ONE OF THOSE CANS OF "AIR", OFTEN USED TO CLEAN COMPUTERS,TO BLOW THE DIRT OUT OF THE WORKS. ALSO SAID NEVER USE OIL, JUST BLOW IT OUT. WE DID AS SUGGESTED AND MY SETH THOMAS HAS RUN BEAUTIFULLY EVER SINCE! MINE IS POSTED ON THIS WEBSITE, TOO, I AM WONDERING AT THE MANUFACTURE DATE ON IT.

thank you for chiming in about the Seth Thomas clock. I'll try your suggestion about the canned air. I found a local guy that says he can take the internal gears out and soak them in a solution that will usually get clocks like this working again. I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not. Have you heard of this causing further damage?
