Sand box treasure

by Shannon
(Northern Michigan)

It is an Ansonia mantle clock made of cast iron. It has a date stamped on it from New York with June 14th 1881. There is another date of 1882.

Dimensions of the clock are 22 inches long by 11 in high and 5 1/2 in wide. It is made of cast iron, gold leaf and appears to be marble or granite.

I cannot find any pictures of anything close to the design. Looking for value for insurance or resale purposes. My grandfather found it in a sand box in the 1940's. He cleaned it up and fixed it and it works great. I have a picture of it but could not upload.
