Ogee Style Clock

by Rick Davis
(Manchester, TN)

It is of the mid 19th century Ogee Style Clock. Mahogany Veneer and appears to be on pine construction possibly. Very good shape. I have it running on my mantel. The tag or paper inside is in good shape and can be read easily with exceptions.

It has American Clocks in Bold letters and under that is Manufactured by Jerome and Co. New haven Conn. Thirty Hour. In the middle of this paper is written G. Dent watchmaker, silversmith,Jeweler, and op(cannot make out the rest of this word. under this it has the word Honiton.

Picture on glass is of the Westminster Abbey. Any help in dating this would be appreciated. Was guessing a short time before the Civil War.
