My Grandma's Old Waterbury Mantle Chime Clock

by Brad
(Federal Way, WA, USA)

Waterbury Mantel Clock

Waterbury Mantel Clock

This clock was left to me after my dad passed last year. I have the receipt from when my great grandpa Holdridge purchased it (Dec. 6, 1918) from Mathauer & Tulian Co. (Jewelers and Optmetrists) 337 Kercheval Avenue. Detroit, MI.

In the back (besides the key and purchase receipt)was also an Invite to a New Year's Ball for Friday Evening, Dec 30th, 1887 at Sevill's Hall, Lodi put on by George H. Irwin Post, No 25. The ball and a supper were just $1.25 back then...back to the clock.

It is in very good condition and it works however we do not wind it. Anyway if anyone could tell me more about it I would appreciate it. thanks
