Identifying an antique tall case clock

by Bill O'keefe
(Providence Forge, Va.)

It was made in the 1770s in Pennsylvania and then rebuit in 1820. It is one of the first tall case clocks to have an alarm installed on it.

The face has a date 1820 and name either L T Hart regulator or J T Hart regulator. It resembles the clock in Thomas Jefferson's study at Monticello.
