Great, Great Grandmother's Mantel Clock

by Nan Mulvaney
(Lawrenceville, GA)

It was made by New Haven Clock Company in New Haven Connecticut in 1881.

It is a woman's mantel clock. Wood, carved with a gold dial on the face and on the pendulum there is an "S" on the left and an "F" on the right. The pendulum moves but the winding dial on the left feels as if it has been wound too tight so the clock won't chime.

It has elaborate gold scrolling on the door. It is a beautiful clock and I would love to know more about it if possible. I have a key for it too but have no idea how the clock got what seems, overwhelmed on the hour dial.

Please help if possible. There is a New Haven sticker on the back and "1881" on the pendulum.
