Curious About Hamilton grandfather clock

by Jessie
(Virginia)

Hi! Hopefully someone can help me. I recently cleaned out my grandfather's garage and found a grandfather clock with the weights packaged up (disconnected) lying inside the case.

I know very little of it, except it's a grandfather type tallcase clock with pendulum and 3 weights and is marked "Hamilton." Appearance wise, it is cherry or mahogany with broken pediment style head, glass door, colonial turnings, and stands about 5-1/2 feet high, etc.

Can anyone give me any history of this clock or company? Never heard of it before except my dad once owned a Hamilton wristwatch.
