Sessions Mantel Clock
by: Bill

Hi, your clock is a Sessions Clock Company tambour mantel clock manufactured circa 1923. It looks as if someone refinished the case to make it black. The original finish (in case you ever want to restore it) was a brown mahogany.

The book value as of 2002 on that model is $225. This is in running condition.

The movement in that clock is a very good one and it would probably run just fine with a good cleaning and oiling. They need this service at least every 5 years.

Thanks

Thank you Bill. I have a local gentleman, WWII veteran, who for years repaired and built clocks. He said he'd love to take a look at it, and i"m sure can probably clean and lubricate it. Thanks for your advice. I love the craftsmanship of well built items like this! Doug

Running like a sewing machine!

Just a little cleaning and this antique jewel is running excellent. Keeps very good time and lovely chime every half hour and hour. Accurate. Where is the craftsmanship today that these jewels were built with! Thanks again Bill!
