Antique Seth Thomas captain's clock

by Kyle Marshall
(Florida)

The clock has a wooden frame that is double faced. The time is on top face and it says "patented on Dec 28, 1875".

The month and day of week are on two scrolls on bottom face. The date of month is pointed out by the hand. It says "patented on Feb 15, 1876" on the calendar face.

My father inherited it. He had it restored by The Seth Thomas Clock Company in the sixties. They kept it for two years.

It hangs on a wall. This is all I know about it. I can't get it open to get the numbers out of it. I know it does open, as I have seen my dad do it, but I can't seem to find the latch.
